Job Title: SoC/CPU Design Engineer

Job Summary:

As part of Arm's Solutions Engineering team, we are not just designing complex SoCs—we are defining the future of chip design methodologies. Our work goes beyond power optimization, performance enhancement, and system integration; we also innovate design flows, influence Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, and build the knowledge base that enables custom SoC and CPU design. We collaborate across teams to drive improved performance for both Arm and our partners, focusing on advanced performance analysis and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Synthesis, Physical Design & Implementation of CPU cores, system interconnects, and other Arm designs.
• Analyze timing, area, and power to enhance the quality of Arm designs.
• Optimize design, flow, and methodologies to achieve best-in-class Power, Performance, and Area Trade-offs (PPAT) while working with internal and external teams.
• Develop and deploy new methods to improve performance efficiency and overall results.
• Support and enhance detailed performance analysis and data mining techniques.
• Collaborate with RTL design teams to analyze and optimize IP.
• Translate R&D concepts into real-world implementation solutions.
• Enable Arm’s partners to achieve the highest quality of design results.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in ASIC implementation, physical design, STA (Static Timing Analysis), structured clock tree, PDN (Power Delivery Network) analysis, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and physical verification.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in developing and adopting new silicon performance methodologies and promoting their use within global teams.
• Expertise in synthesis, floor planning, placement & routing, CTS (Clock Tree Synthesis), logic and physical optimization, timing closure, and power analysis at both block and top levels.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Tcl, Perl, Python, Make).

Preferred Qualifications ("Good to Have")

• Experience with Arm-based SoCs.
• Knowledge of low-power design techniques (e.g., power gating, voltage/frequency scaling).
• Verilog RTL design experience.
• Experience with ATPG tools and production testing.
