About the Role

This position is part of the Industrial Lubricants division at Castrol and is based at the Patalganga Plant. As Senior Team Leader, you will manage a team of technologists engaged in product support, testing, and technical innovation. You will be responsible for laboratory operations, safety, technical mentoring, and alignment with global development goals.

Key Responsibilities

???? Strategy & Leadership

• Lead a team responsible for product support for lubricants and metalworking fluids.

• Identify customer needs, analyze industry trends, and contribute to global industrial technology strategy.

• Represent bp in technical forums, working groups, and external events.

• Manage customer technical relationships and oversee used oil analysis services.

• Guide and participate in the optimization of raw material usage (COGS).

• Ensure compliance with HSSE, quality, and legal requirements.

???? Implementation & Delivery

• Champion HSSE practices within the Central Castrol Technical Center (CCTC).

• Provide technical advice to internal teams, customers, and during new business opportunities.

• Support deployment of new products and ensure trial feedback is communicated effectively to global teams.

• Train teams on product applications and support quality incident resolutions.

• Drive agility and digital transformation within the technology function.

• Lead capability development and manage CAPEX projects aligned with future market needs.

???? Monitoring & Operational Excellence

• Track KPIs for the technical service lab.

• Plan and manage budgets, resources, and team capacity (CAPEX, REVEX, OTC).

• Set project priorities in collaboration with Product Managers, Sales, and senior stakeholders.

• Maintain high standards of lab operation, safety, and data integrity.

• Conduct employee development and performance reviews.

Experience & Qualifications

???? Education:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent

• Or, extensive relevant industry experience

???? Experience:

• Hands-on experience in lubricant formulations and applications

• Experience working with external customers in a technical capacity

• Operational and technical leadership in lab and industrial settings
