Job Overview

The Senior Copywriter will join Lowe's Global Marketing Team in Bengaluru, working under the leadership of the Creative Directors. The role involves collaborating with Designers and Makers to develop design direction for various marketing channels, ensuring creative output aligns with Lowe’s brand voice and messaging.

A strong understanding of American retail culture and nuances is beneficial. The ideal candidate should be a team player, self-motivated, and open to new ideas that elevate the brand image. They will create effective copy that reflects Lowe's brand voice while writing a wide range of messages—from broad brand statements to highly specific offers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creative Leadership:

  • Lead messaging and copy direction on a quarterly basis, typically tied to promotional seasons. This includes digital, print, radio, and television content.
  • Collaborate with senior designers to develop seasonal style guides and concepts for review by the Creative Leadership Team (CLT).
  • Ensure consistency across all workstreams by coordinating with the marketing specialists.

• Copy Creation & Review:

  • Write and produce copy for a variety of marketing materials, including in-store signage, radio, and digital media.
  • Develop and write radio spots that align with brand voice while promoting ongoing campaigns.
  • Deliver strategic and tactical copywriting solutions for both ongoing and new initiatives.

• Team Collaboration & Mentorship:

  • Provide feedback and guidance to junior copywriters, assisting with work review and ensuring brand consistency.
  • Lead creative work for channel-level initiatives, working with CLT and marketing partners to develop strong brand communications.

• Branding & Messaging:

  • Create copy that follows Lowe's brand and campaign style guides for digital and print advertising.
  • Apply knowledge of industry-specific nuances to craft targeted messaging for various customer segments.

• Project Management & Communication:

  • Demonstrate strong project management skills by handling multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Present ideas confidently and ensure precise understanding of requirements across stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Experience:

  • 4-6+ years of experience, ideally in a marketing agency or retail organization.
  • Proven experience in copywriting for multiple channels (social, display, emails, etc.) in a marketing or retail context.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality and timely content.
  • Experience working with American English and understanding its nuances in a retail context is a plus.

• Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related fields.

• Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to craft creative copy for different media types including digital, print, radio, and TV.
  • Strong understanding of branding, messaging, and retail marketing principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team and mentor junior team members.
