Patient Services Representative

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Resolve patient and provider billing inquiries related to services provided.
2. Audit patient balances and escalate accounts requiring adjustments per customer account policies.
3. Update patient demographics, including billing address, phone number, and insurance details.
4. Rebill claims as necessary when reviewing collection accounts.
5. Generate and print patient statements while ensuring the printing process is completed.
6. Process payments through client payment portals.
7. Review and update patient records by processing bad address/return mail reports.
8. Monitor collection reports and generate collection progression letters following customer-specific processes.
9. Prepare accounts for collection agency distribution, adhering to customer-specific collections processes.
10. Cross-train on team tasks to ensure continuity and backup support.
11. Safeguard protected health information (PHI) by adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
12. Be a team player and support department and company goals.
13. Maintain reliability and punctuality by adhering to work schedules, including breaks and lunch timings.
14. Perform additional related duties as assigned.
15. Escalate issues to the Patient Services Manager or Director when necessary.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Work experience and educational background relevant to patient services, medical billing, or healthcare administration.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

• Experience in medical billing, collections, or customer service within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and patient data privacy regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally.
• Proficiency in data entry and payment processing systems.
