Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for Air Import and Export shipments, including documentation, logistics coordination, cargo tracking, shipment monitoring, and quotations. The role ensures accuracy and compliance with all logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare import/export shipment documentation, including Air Waybills.
• Attach shipping labels, instructions, and arrange insurance coverage if required.
• Ensure compliance with air cargo security provisions, including Transport Canada’s Air Cargo Security Program and the Partners in Protection (PIP) program with Canada Border Services Agency.

✔ Shipment Coordination

• Arrange pickup and delivery with trucking companies, airlines, and bonded facilities.
• Prepare import documents for the brokerage department and notify customers of shipment arrivals.

✔ Customer & Vendor Communication

• Provide transportation and payment advice to clients.
• Issue freight bills and invoices while ensuring accurate record retention and filing.
• Negotiate rates and prepare competitive quotations for customers.

✔ Monitoring & Reporting

• Track and monitor cargo shipments, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Promptly communicate shipment status with customers.
• Ensure adherence to Good Distribution Practices (GDP) regulations.

✔ Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other logistics-related duties as required.
• Handle complex processes involving multiple levels of approval.

Qualifications & Competencies

???? Experience & Skills
✔ 2-5 years experience in freight forwarding or a similar role.
✔ Strong organization and time management skills.
✔ Attention to detail and ability to handle complex logistics processes.
✔ Knowledge of international commerce (shipping & payment terms, purchasing, customs regulations, etc.).
✔ Familiarity with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) regulations.
✔ Proficient in data entry and MS Office (Word & Excel).
✔ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
✔ Flexibility to work overtime if necessary.

???? Education & Certifications
✔ Minimum: College Diploma or equivalent work experience.
✔ Preferred Certifications:

• IATA/ICAO Dangerous Goods certification (an asset).
• Authorized Cargo Representative (ACR) certificate (an asset).
