Debt Manager – Job Description

Function/Department: Debt Management

Role Purpose:

The Debt Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing debt management activities. The role involves managing agencies within the assigned territory and ensuring efficient EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment) recovery while adhering to banking guidelines. This contributes to the broader organizational goals of the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

• Debt Collection & Portfolio Management:

  • Manage and undertake collection processes for assigned debts.
  • Regularly track and control delinquencies bucket-wise & Days Past Due (DPD) wise.
  • Focus on non-starters to minimize risk.

• Agency & Team Management:

  • Allocate and achieve collection targets through agencies/in-house teams.
  • Follow up with default customers to ensure timely recovery.
  • Ensure adherence to collection processes and legal guidelines.

• Legal & Recovery Actions:

  • Trace and initiate recovery processes for absconding default customers.
  • Recommend legal actions for non-recoverable cases and coordinate with the legal team for case closures.

• Reporting & Administration:

  • Maintain delinquent account history records.
  • Prepare and maintain MIS reports (Management Information System) for daily, weekly, and monthly reviews.
  • Provide collection feedback and maintain administrative data.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Any Graduation.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years in debt management, collections, or related banking functions.
