Job Summary:
Amazon is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Engineer to join our Pharmaceutical Process Development team. This role involves designing, optimizing, and scaling up manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, ensuring robust, efficient, and cost-effective processes that meet all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Design & Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and compliance with industry standards.
• Process Scale-Up: Lead efforts to scale up processes from the lab to full-scale production, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal risk.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in chemical processes, working to improve yield, quality, and safety.
• Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to integrate process development into the overall product lifecycle.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all processes comply with regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA), prioritizing safety and quality standards.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of process designs, changes, and validations for traceability and compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to improve product quality and reduce costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of chemical engineering principles and their application in pharmaceutical process development.
• Experience with Process Validation: Experience in process validation, scale-up, and troubleshooting within the pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing industry.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulations and industry standards, such as cGMP, FDA, and EMA guidelines.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL) and MS Office Suite.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical process development or chemical engineering, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on formulation, purification, and quality control.
• Experience with process scale-up and pilot plant operations is a significant advantage.

Working Hours:

• Full-time position with flexible working hours.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines or provide technical support during critical phases.
