Currently, Akanksha operates 26 schools in partnership with government bodies across Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Navi Mumbai, and Nagpur, serving ~13,000 students from Jr. KG to Grade 10.

Key Responsibilities:

???? Library Maintenance

✅ Arrange and maintain books in the library
✅ Label and repair books when necessary
✅ Conduct periodical book inventory
✅ Reorganize the library and remove outdated books

???? Book Management & Acquisition

✅ Lend books and maintain an administration & search system
✅ Provide recommendations for new books based on student & teacher preferences
✅ Attract sponsors & book donors for the library

???? Library Education & Guidance

✅ Teach students how to use the library efficiently
✅ Guide teachers & students on age-appropriate books
✅ Train teachers on how to integrate library materials into lessons

???? Reading Promotion & Engagement

✅ Organize library projects (e.g., read-aloud sessions, book quizzes)
✅ Reward students (e.g., "Biggest Book Lover of the Month" award)
✅ Conduct book/author of the month displays
✅ Keep teachers informed about student reading habits

???? Budget & Resource Management

✅ Maintain and monitor library budget
✅ Check invoices for book acquisitions
✅ Strengthen connections with other libraries, book suppliers & city library networks

Required Qualifications:

✔️ B.Lib./M.Lib. (Bachelor’s/Master’s in Library Science)
✔️ Strong reading skills & knowledge of grade-appropriate content
✔️ Ability to coach students & teachers on reading skills & library usage
✔️ Team player with a self-motivated attitude
✔️ Effective planning & organizational skills
✔️ Openness to feedback and willingness to improve
✔️ Basic computer skills
