Job Overview

Emerson is looking for an Application Specialist to join the North American team. The role will primarily involve providing engineering support for control valves and controllers, handling project-related inquiries, and utilizing proprietary software for measurement and selection. The Application Specialist will support the sales network in North America and collaborate with the industry outreach team and product engineers to provide solutions for complex applications in the process industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Support & Quotations:

  • Review and design project guidelines based on technical specifications.
  • Clarify technical details/project guidelines through phone or email communication with the sales office or partners.
  • Prepare technical and business statements, list technical deviations, and create reports and drawings.

• Sales Support:

  • Assist the sales office after the issue of PO (Purchase Order) and prepare exchange for order entry.
  • Provide technical support for OE (original equipment) or plant explanations and assist with change orders.

• Technical Assistance & Application Support:

  • Assist with critical applications for any project-based inquiries with support from senior engineers.
  • Work with GIS/SPG teams for critical application solutions when needed.

• Customer Engagement:

  • Engage with clients and get introduced to TBE (Technical Business Engagement) meetings with customers.
  • Support MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) opportunities, SPIR (Spare Part Information Request), and RSPL (Request for Spare Parts List) jobs.

• Documentation & Record Keeping:

  • Maintain records of all work done and ensure proper documentation is provided.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in any engineering field.
• Knowledge of all Fisher products and accessories.
• Understanding of product specifications and Incoterms.
• Adequate experience in estimating control valves for industry-specific applications.
• Proficient with MIB (Measurement and Instrumentation Based) technique and FF2 (FisherFirst2) tool.
• Basic understanding of dormant/obsolete/competitor products.

Preferred:

• Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
