Our client is a leading Canadian PropTech company specializing in New Home Sales OS to optimize the home sales process. Their Transaction Management Software streamlines the new home sales process from lead capture and demand analysis to closing.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with an analytical mindset to join our Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

• Manage daily accounting operations (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable).
• Accounts Receivable:
  • Process customer invoices and deposits.
  • Follow up on collections.
• Accounts Payable:
  • Process vendor bills and ensure compliance.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries.
• Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: Ensure accuracy of cash reporting and transaction coding.

2. Financial Reporting & Budgeting

• Create and maintain financial dashboards, reports, and KPIs.
• Prepare monthly Financial Statements for management review.
• Prepare revenue forecasts, annual budgets, and monthly updates.
• Ensure actual results align with budgeted accounts.
• Track and prepare monthly sales commissions for the sales team.

3. Compliance & Taxation

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax forms and documents.
• Assist in audit processes, providing necessary documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data.
• Stay updated on North American bookkeeping standards and industry best practices.

4. Expense & Payroll Management

• Review employee expenses for accuracy and generate summary reports.
• Process payroll and manage relevant documentation.

5. Communication & Process Improvement

• Engage with vendors and internal teams professionally and efficiently.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations.
• Support ad-hoc finance requests as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Experience & Education

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a similar Accounting/Finance role with a North American company. (Preferred: 4 years of accounting experience)
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Preferred).

2. Technical Skills

• Excel Expertise: Advanced skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
• Accounting Software: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (or similar software like Zoho, Xero).
• Payment Services: Experience with Stripe or similar platforms.

3. Soft Skills & Work Ethic

• Fluent in English (spoken & written) for effective communication.
• Strong analytical and data entry skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
